UK’s Security and Resilience Industry Suppliers Community (RISC)
RISC is an inclusive alliance of trade associations, suppliers and other organisations that represent the UK’s security and resilience sector.
Established in 2007, RISC is the UK’s leading security industry alliance which serves as the principal channel of communication between the UK security and resilience industry, the Homeland Security Group (HSG) within the Home Office, and other government departments and agencies on security-related requirements and policy issues. RISC represents around 6,000 companies by virtue of the representative organisations which participate.
RISC serves as conduit to the security sector, broadly defined. The alliance works with the Government to facilitate information sharing on opportunities and consultations, and also circulates calls and tenders of strategic importance.
RISC was founded by ADS, the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) and techUK. Membership is open to other appropriate, representative bodies.
**Announcement, 24 February 2025**
It is with deep regret that RISC shares the passing of Dame Julie Kenny DBE DL, Chair of the UK Security and Resilience Industry Suppliers Community (RISC), following a short illness.
RISC is in shock at this tragic news.
Dame Julie was a truly inspirational figure in the UK security sector, steering our industry’s strategic relationship with government. She was a wonderfully kind and no-nonsense lady who many within the security community have been privileged to know.
On behalf of RISC and our wider community, we extend our deepest condolences to her family. Dame Julie will be sorely missed.
An online book of condolence and public service will be set up to celebrate her life and achievements, which RISC will share further details of in due course.
